Updating

One command checks for a new version, downloads it, verifies it and installs it with a fresh backup.

sudo aether update

What happens

1. Your licence key is sent to our update server, which replies with the latest version and a download link that expires after a few minutes.
2. The file's checksum and digital signature are verified. If either doesn't match, the update stops before anything changes.
3. The same compatibility and conflict checks as the first install run again.
4. A new backup is made, then the update is installed.

Good to know

• Aether never needs our servers to keep working: aether update is the only part that contacts them, and only when you run it.
• If our update server is unreachable, nothing changes on your panel. Try again later or download the version from the customer area.
• See every version and what changed in the changelog.
• Updates are included for update period, e.g. 12 months from your purchase. After that, the version you have keeps working.
