"<name> has never joined the server".

The inviter must have joined at least once (on a network: any server with FlareReferrals). Check the spelling.

A command says "Unknown command".

It is turned off for normal players: config.yml > player-access, /referrals settings → Player access, enabled: false in the menu file, or a permission removed. Admins always see everything.

A player says he didn't get his reward.

With the collect menu on (default) it waits in /referrals collect until he takes it, also when his inventory is full. On a network check the servers of that reward: the menu tells him where to collect it.

A currency is not given.

Look at the console after the start: it says why (plugin missing, Vault without an economy plugin, wrong command). Try the command of the currency yourself in the console with a real name and amount.

Rewards for offline players?

They wait and are given at the next join (rewards.offline-queue: true).

Console: "... reward(s) were being given when the server stopped".

The server stopped (crash, kill) at the exact moment a reward was being given. Check the listed players and give it by hand if they don't have it. It can't be given twice.

Console: "Could not open the mysql storage".

The plugin stays off so no data is split. Check storage.mysql, that the database exists and that this server can reach it (on Pterodactyl use the host shown in the Databases tab, not always localhost).

Console: "data.yml can't be read".

The file has a YAML error (often after a manual edit). Fix it or copy the latest file from backups/.

I changed storage or network and nothing happened.

Those settings need a restart: /referrals reload tells you.

Does it work with BungeeCord / Velocity?

Yes: the jar on every game server (not on the proxy) and the same MySQL database on all of them (Network).

Can 1.8 players join?

Yes with ViaVersion + ViaBackwards on a 1.16.5 or newer server.

Which version do I have?

/referrals version (1.0.21+): it also tells you if a new version is out.
