How it's made
Being upfront about this matters to us: most of Aether's code was written with an AI coding assistant, working under our direction.
The idea, the design, the choice of features, the testing on real panels and the support you get are ours. The assistant wrote code to our specifications; we reviewed it, tested it and decided what ships.
Every release goes through the same installer checks, backup and rollback described above, and we're the ones who answer when something needs fixing.
FAQ
Will it break my existing add-ons?
The installer checks for conflicts before it changes anything. If it finds one, it stops and tells you what it found: your panel stays exactly as it was.
What if an update goes wrong?
Every install and update makes a backup first. A single rollback command puts your panel back to the previous state. See Rollback.
Is there DRM? Does it phone home?
No. Aether never switches itself off and doesn't need our servers to run. Only aether update contacts our update server, and only when you run it. Features that work with other services (Modrinth, CurseForge, Cloudflare and so on) talk to those services directly.
Which Pterodactyl versions are supported?
Pterodactyl Panel 1.15.0 to 1.15.2, with PHP 8.2 or newer and Node.js 22.
Can I use it on more than one panel?
The licence covers panels you own or operate yourself. Reselling or redistributing it isn't allowed. See the licence for the details.
Can I change the code?
Yes, for your own use. Changes you make aren't covered by support, and updates may overwrite them.
How long do I get updates?
update period, e.g. 12 months from the date of purchase. After that, Aether keeps working as it is.
Is Aether official or affiliated with Pterodactyl?
No. Aether is an independent product made by TMDevelopment for Pterodactyl Panel. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the Pterodactyl project.
